Stunning 13.2hh Palomino Welsh Section C, 6 years old. Full up to height & weight, nice stocky build, barefoot although has been shod on fronts before. He's well bred & would do well in the show ring with some more practise. He's been ridden by small children on a lead rein but not off the lead rein as he isn't suitable right now. Would be an ideal second pony for an older, competent teen or small confident adult. He is a weight carrier & can carry up to 10.5 stone, don't let his size fool you, he has happily carried a 5ft7 adult without them looking too tall on him as he's stocky. Passported, & up to date with worming & feet. Good with the farrier/to groom/tack up/pick out feet/catch/lead. I don't know how he loads/travels as we have never done it as he was already in our field when I bought him. Would make a great XC pony as he is bold.
He lives out 24/7 with a lightweight rug on in winter when wet, little or no hard feed needed with him so he's fairly low maintenance. :) Lived out all last Winter with no problems or weight loss, no stable vices or blemishes.
Now happily hacks alone & in company but can sometimes get a little agitated if he can see others leaving him & he isn't confident in his rider. Isn't a novice ride as he is only young & still needs extra schooling & a confident rider to push him & get the best from him. He will pop small jumps happily but takes confidence from his rider & could do with extra schooling.(I have kindly been informed that he has jumped 2ft previously). Doesn't rear, kick or bolt. When I bought him he hated fly spray with a passion, now he'll wear a mask & will let me fly spray him, it just takes a little patience & reassurance. Is great in traffic & is used to seeing horse & carts, emergency vehicles, motorbikes, loud rubbish waste lorries etc whizzing past & doesn't bat an eyelid. Is used to dogs too & will happily long rein & isn't too bad at lunging & free schooling. Mixes well with mares/geldings.
Comes with his saddle, bridle etc if wanted.
Happy for whoever is interested to come & try him out hacking, he loves his work & will be a super pony in the future, he is a real genuine chap who even comes cantering down to see you when you pull up at the field! Will be worth his weight in gold when properly schooled, sadly I just cannot offer him anymore with me & he can't just be sat wasted in our field over Winter therefore must be sold. I have placed him under projects as he needs someone who can spend a little time building a bond with him & ironing out any little kinks. Can sell him for £1,200 with his tack etc or will sell him for £1,100 without.
