We are looking for a reliable, honest, hard working person to join our friendly family run livery yard in Damerham [near Fordingbridge, Hampshire]. The hours would be 5 days per week, 3 days in the week and weekends, (there will be some flexibility). Initially 3 hours in the morning, 9am-12pm with the potential to do more in time.
Duties include mucking out, filling haynets/haygain and water buckets, checking fences and other general day to day yard duties as required. In time brining in/turning out, rug changing, feeding etc of the horses may be required.
The stable hand/groom will eventually have responsibility for the yard when the yard manager is away therefore experience of handling and working with horses would be essential.
The successful applicant will be quiet and competent handling a variety of horses. They will need to be self-employed with your own relevant insurance cover.
Some riding may be available depending on experience. Drivers license and own transport due to location would be a must.
