I am looking to rehome my lovely 14.2hh mare due to not having the time to put to her any more.
She is 22 years old but is currently ridden a couple of a times a week and still goes beautifully in the school. She is fit and healthy and would still be able to go out and compete in dressage and showing. She is very well bred and excels in veteran classes having competed at county level. She has competed up to novice level dressage.
She is happy to hack out in company but not so keen on her own. She is NOT a novice ride as she van be very spooky and sharp at times so needs a lightweight (under 9 stone) and experienced rider to be able to cope with her.
I have previously tried putting her out on loan but she has been returned due to riders finding her to sharp which is such a shame as she has it all there and can do it with a confident rider. This has been proven by her being competed successfully 4 seasons in a row.
However, if I cannot find her a ridden home, I am now considering rehoming her as a companion pony as she gets on well with others in the field and is very submissive
She would need a good field shelter if she was to live out as she isn't a particularly good doer. However, as long as she has a substantial field shelter and is rugged up enough she should be fine.
She is a lovely mare, very easy to handle, never kicked or bitten, brilliant with children, dogs etc. very low maintenance.
I have owned this mare for 10 years and she has taught me so much in that time - she is just quirky and needs someone with the time, patience, experience and perseverance if she is going to be ridden but as a companion she would be fine as she is so sweet on the ground.
A 5* home is way more important than price. No timewasters - genuine enquiries only please.
If you are interested and you think you may be able to offer my mare a long term home then please contact me on 07966 263323 where I will be happy to chat further.
Many thanks
